| Today is my mom's birthday and although I didn't get a chance to buy her a cake, I'm pretty sure she's content. My mom was just down here for the past 9 days, visiting LA for the first time ever. So after many trips to K-town, some golf, shopping,$1,000 less in my wallet, and an impromptu trip to Vegas, she went back home today and is having a birthday dinner with the rest of my family. I guess the trip just worked out around her birthday and I'm glad she got a chance to visit. I just wish I didn't have to work so I could show her more things. But all in all, it turned out well. In Vegas, I took her to watch Love (Beatles Cirque de Soleil). Why are those tickets so ridiculously expensive??? I mean seriously, $165 per ticket? C'mon now. They must be making a killing! That's precisely the reason I've never watched one of these shows whenever I go to Vegas - because they're so freakin' expensive. But how many times does my mom get a chance to go and watch a show, right? Anyway, she really enjoyed it so that's all that matters. I don't know if my expectations were super high or not, but it wasn't THAT great. Don't get me wrong, it was good, and the music was good too, but it just wasn't as awe inspiring as I thought it would be. Maybe I should have taken her to watch "O"... Also while in Vegas, I got to check out the new Palazzo hotel. Man, that place is nice! It's also freakin' expensive! I guess when you're associated with the Venetian, it's first class all the way. Neither hotel even has a buffet! I guess that's why I ended up paying $30 a dish at their Chinese restuarant. I have never seen Mongolian beef sell for $26.95! I think each of the scallops we ate were about $4 each. Craziness. But the food was good and the interior was nice so I guess you get what you pay for. At least they had an all Chinese wait staff. Anyway, my whole point of writing about the Palazzo was about the girl I saw there. I don't regret things in life but I do regret not talking to her. I had my approach all planned out and then when I saw her again, I froze. Just kept staring at her. But later when she walked by, she looked back at me. That's a good sign, right? Anyway, even the people at the Palazzo are better looking. *sigh* I'll miss you Palazzo girl. Until next time... I realized that I have a lot of personality flaws that I need to fix. Going on vacation with people really helps to see this. I need more patience with my family but no matter how hard I try, I keep going back to being me. Ah, so much to change. God help me! I can't believe I get to sit in my apt right now and enjoy a moment of peace and hopefully a good night's rest. Whether I'm up in Seattle or in my own apt, it seems that whenever my mom is around, I'm sleeping on the floor. Plus it didn't help that my cousin is the weirdest snorer ever! Anyway, enough of this. Happy Birthday mom! Hope you had a good time!
